Topics in Mathematical Physics seminar

The goal of the seminar is to give its participants the opportunity to enlarge their knowledge of various subjects within mathematical physics. This is done by following a specific text or a series of texts related to one subject. The setup is quite informal and during the seminar its contents may be customized to the wishes of the participants. The seminar is intended for a broad audience, including M.Sc. students in Mathematical Physics, PhD-students and also permanent staff members.

Practical information

Currently we mainly follow the book by Liviu Nicolaescu, An invitation to Morse theory. In practise there is a biweekly meeting during which one of the participants elaborates on a part of the book. This takes place at:

Tuesdays, 10.30h - 12.30h, HG 01.029. Except for April 5, which will be at 13.30 - 15.30 in HG 00.304.

Summer break

M.Sc. Students

Masters students should be able to follow the seminar once they have gathered enough prerequisites about differentiable geometry. Also, if there is any interest, we can try to arrange credit points for following the seminar (and finishing it with somekind of exam). Please let me know if there is any need for this.
