We will review some rigorous results related to radiation
in kinetic theory, which are the dipole formula
for electro-magnetic radiation (for the Vlasov-Maxwell system)
and the quadrupole formula for gravitational radiation
(in the case of the Einstein-Vlasov system).
Contrary to what the title might suggest,
this talk will be mostly non-technical and accessible
to non-specialists.
