Mathieu Subspaces: a Generalization of Ideals of Associative Algebras
We first introduce the new notion of Mathieu subspaces, which generalizes the notion of ideals of associative algebras. We then discuss its connections with the Jacobian Conjecture, the Mathieu Conjecture, the Image Conjecture, the Gaussian Moments Conjecture, etc.. Furthermore, some examples and open problems on Mathieu subspaces will also be discussed. The talk will be accessible to a general audience.
