Lifting abelian varieties to the rational numbers
It is elementary to see that any elliptic curve over Z/pZ lifts to one defined over Q; one simply takes a lift of the coefficients to Z. In this talk I will discuss the more interesting case of abelian varieties of higher dimension. This is joint work with Gregory Sankaran.
