Equivariant Analytic Torsion
Combinatorial, or R, Torsion is a secondary invariant of topological spaces introduced by Reidemeister originally to classify Lens spaces. An analytic description of this invariant was then later discovered by Ray and Singer, defined for an oriented Riemannian manifold. In this talk we provide an introduction to Ray-Singer's analytic torsion, and discuss its equivariant generalisation due to Hochs and Saratchandran.
