Local theory of Banach spaces
While most of the classical examples of Banach spaces are infinite dimensional, one can extract a lot of information from their finite dimensional subspaces. The study of these finite dimensional subspaces is called local theory. In this talk, I will explain some interesting results in this field and I will show how one can use 'local' properties of finite dimensional subspaces to obtain 'global' properties of the whole space.
