of Math", which is true, but it was never published there. As the paper
is important and referred to often, but it is not available anywhere, I
put it here so it is SOMEWHERE. What happened is that the author left
academia, and didn't pursue the final steps necessary for publication.
(In my opinion, the author should not be blamed for this - only academia
cares so much for publications etc. and the "real world" doesn't care
much.)
The paper is a pretty proof of a special case of Miyanishi's theorem,
which implies that kernels of locally nilpotent derivations on k[x,y,z]
are generated by two elements. Zurkowski's paper proves that kernels of
homogeneous locally nilpotent derivations on K[x,y,z] are generated by
two homogeneous elements.
