Why is topological K-theory special?
In this short talk I will discuss some of the flavours of commutativity in the world of topological objects equipped with symmetries. I will also indicate how these flavours simplify when we investigate invariants of spaces (cohomology theories) with rational coefficients. I will finish by going through a very special example of topological K-theory.
