A toy case of the Langlands program
While most mathematicians have heard of the Langlands program, it is not so easy to say precisely what it encompasses. As even Langlands himself admitted that he does not understand all of it, I figured it would be slightly too ambitious to cover every branch within half an hour... Instead I will discuss a toy case, which already shows several key features of the program and provides a glimpse of more general instances.
