Two first-year math students 2007-2008 (Aart Konijnenberg, Julius Witte:) have done a so-called first-year project on polynomial maps over finite fields.
The file is in Dutch, but even for those who do not speak Dutch, it still is fun to see some pictures of polynomial maps , which are directed graphs on some lattices. (Like on the bottom of page 5.)
